Got a Question?
These Might Help

Check in is from 2pm to 8.30pm. We do recognise that there can be reasons why you may not be able to get here before 8.30pm, especially if you’re coming straight from work on a busy weekend.  So we can be flexible. Please pre-arrange a later check in time with us if you need to or if you realise during your journey that you will be arriving later than expected, please ring us.

We ask that people leave their pitch by 11am. We’re happy to be flexible here also if you discuss it with us.

Our campsite is very popular. At weekends and during peak periods we would highly recommend that you book to avoid the disappointment of being turned away if we have no space. However, there may be times in low/mid-season when we do have space and we would be very happy to welcome you without a booking

You will need to check in at reception when you arrive. When you come through the entrance to the campsite, follow the road around to the left (don’t go straight on) and then to the right (don’t go up the hill). There is an area here just outside reception where you can park.

We will welcome you and give you the information you need in relation to your pitch, facilities and local area.

We ask for a 50% deposit at the time of your booking and you can pay the balance on arrival. When you arrive, please park at the parking area and check in at reception as above and we can take your payment.

We accept cash and cards

We think that this is the ideal place to switch off the phones and tablets but we do recognise that access to the internet is important for most people. We do offer free wifi but as you can imagine, being in the middle of the countryside, the speed and strength of the signal is not the best and we can’t guarantee that there will be a consistent signal especially if there are lots of people trying to use it at one time.

The mobile signal on the campsite is excellent.

We do accept dogs but we do have a restriction of a maximum of 2 dogs per pitch and we ask that you keep them on a lead while on the site.

There are many lovely walks around for you and your dog but please also be mindful that all of the land around us is livestock farming land therefore care needs to be taken while on your walks also.

Yes, we have an area that we lock up at night where you can leave your bike.

We don’t have a playground for children but our campsite is a wonderful open space for children to explore (under supervision). Our chickens and ducks also provide endless entertainment.

We have a small shop on the site, offering your camping essentials which include BBQ packs from our local butcher and many local products.

In the high season our café is open and we offer breakfasts along with barista coffee and homemade cakes. Just book your breakfast in advance and sit back without the worry of the cooking and washing up even if it’s just for one day of your holiday.

You can enjoy the café area inside or if the weather is nice, enjoy sitting outside watching the world go by.

We do allow BBQs that are far enough off the ground to ensure they don’t scorch the grass. We have some BBQs for rent. Please ask at reception

We don’t allow disposable BBQs – we want to save our grass and we try to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

We believe that campfires are a wonderful part of the camping experience but we also have to consider the safety of all of our guests. We will allow the use of our own fire pits which you can rent from us along with the necessary firewood. Please ask at reception

We cannot allow open fires other than those in firepits and not at all if the weather conditions would make them unsafe

No smoking or vaping is allowed in our indoor spaces or at our facilities building. You can smoke around the campsite but we ask that you are mindful of other guests and please dispose of your cigarette butts responsibly.

We want all of our guests to enjoy their holiday experience with us therefore we have made the decision not to allow amplified music at our campsite.

Yes. We ask that people are considerate of other guests and our quiet time is between 10.45pm. and 8am.

Our environment is precious to us and we are trying to do everything we can to protect it. We would love for everyone to recycle their rubbish as much as possible. We have bins for general waste, recycling and glass.

Please help us to look after our wonderful environment and follow our recycling instructions.

There are two lovely pubs both within 30 minutes walking distance from us. The Milecastle Inn is to the West and is a small, cosy pub serving good pub food and local ale.

The Twice Brewed Inn to the East is a larger pub also with their own brewery.

It takes around 15 minutes to walk to the wall from the campsite and there is a car park at the Wall which is less than 5 minutes away. There are a number of lovely local walks taking in the wall and the area around.

Have a look at our out and about section for more information.

While beautiful Northumberland is the most northern county in England it is still easily accessible from many places. There are just a few examples below

Manchester                                  2 hrs 30 mins
Birmingham                                 3 hrs 35 mins
Glasgow                                         2 hrs
Edinburgh                                     2 hrs 30 mins
Newcastle Upon Tyne                45 mins
Carlisle                                          35 mins
Leeds                                             2 hrs 30 mins

It’s definitely worth the trip even if you have to travel further

What Our Campers Have to Say…

Just returned from a lovely weekend at this site. We were on a hard standing touring pitch just by the entrance and what a lovely spot it was with amazing views of the countryside. The owners were lovely and friendly and they have this site immaculate.

The toilets and shower block are spotless and I actually looked forward to going for my shower again on the 2nd night. This site is perfect if you are looking to take a walk along Hadrian’s Wall which we did.

Would definitely recommend this caravan and camp site to anyone looking for a peaceful break.

We stayed here at last minute while passing through, called up at 9.30pm and the lady was so welcoming and helpful allowing a late check in.

We parked up next to the duck pond with some rather cute ducks. The facilities were fab, warm and clean. We can’t wait to return

A relaxed break between Christmas and new year. A gem of a site, after a battle with traffic we arrived at the site. A warm and friendly welcome from the owners soon made us totally relax, very helpful. Easy walk to Hadrians Wall, beautiful scenery.

This site is well worth a visit for the location, facilities and the welcoming new owners. Keep up the good work guys, thank you for all you did

If you like small and peaceful this is a fantastic place to stop. There is a small shop in the reception that sells the essentials. There are clean, hot showers and toilets and a laundry room.

Hadrian’s Wall is walking distance and there are loads of footpaths around the site so you can walk as much or as little as you like. We were lucky enough to spend a couple of evenings with amazing sunsets and beautiful, clear starry skies so it was a brilliant opportunity for a bit of photography.

The staff were really welcoming and helpful and the campsite is dog friendly and well kept

This place is a small and beautifully located campsite operated by the couple that own it. Its obvious from your first enquiry they care about good service. Its not a big fancy place with lots of glamping accommodation which seems to be the trend these days. We loved our pitch which was on one of the upper levels, the sunrise and sunsets were amazing.

Lots of birdsong, wild rabbits and the rescue Ponies in the field next door not to mention the resident ducks and hens – we loved Tracy’s bacon sandwiches and proper barrister coffee!

We have already booked a return visit!

Stopped of at this excellent campsite on our way to Scotland. Staff could not do enough for us. Very friendly and helpful. Great knowledge of the area, directions to Hadrian’s wall spot on.

We will definitely be back., best facility’s I have ever used , clean , warm and well maintained, thoroughly recommended, you will want to stay longer
